In de eerste jaren van AfasieNet werd er twee keer per jaar een nieuwsbrief uitgebracht door de commissie Wetenschap. Hierin werd nieuw onderzoek genoemd of besproken op het gebied van afasie dat in Nederland was verschenen in publicaties, boeken of tests.
Het bestuur van AfasieNet wil dit weer oppakken. Daarom wordt hieronder een overzicht gegeven van recent onderzoek van 2024 tot nu. Het is de bedoeling dat vanaf nu dit overzicht elk half jaar wordt gegeven.
De volgende nieuwsbrief Wetenschap verschijnt begin 2026. Informatie voor deze nieuwsbrief kan worden doorgegeven tot 15 december 2025 aan Roel Jonkers, r.jonkers@rug.nl.

- Dr. Vitória Piai (Radboud Universiteit, Nijmegen) en Dr. Adrià Rofes (Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, Groningen) hebben een speciale uitgave van het Journal of Neuropsychology (Wiley, The British Psychological Society) geredigeerd. Deze speciale uitgave richt zich op thema’s binnen de cognitieve neurochirurgie, met speciale aandacht voor taal- en cognitieve stoornissen bij mensen met hersentumoren, de ziekte van Parkinson, aneurysma’s en gerelateerde hersenaandoeningen. De speciale uitgave bestaat uit 15 artikelen, waarvan er 8 afkomstig zijn van onderzoekers uit Nederlandse universiteiten en onderzoekscentra, om zo de impact van dit soort afasiologisch onderzoek in ons land te benadrukken.
